October, 2009:

     This week I helped a young couple purchase their first home, a detached bungalow in the Briar Hill – Belgravia area.  Without going into the specific financial details of their purchase, I’ll say that they got the home for below the $325,000 price point (this includes purchase price + approx $5000.00 in reno’s that they’ll do prior to move-in).  We’re talking a fully detached house with a living room, separate dining room, large master bedroom, and a 2^nd bedroom on the main level… plus a family room, 2^nd bathroom and 3^rd bedroom on the lower level… plus front pad parking and a great backyard.  All for under $325,000!

     Take a quick glance at the real estate section of your local newspaper,  the archives of your favourite real estate blog (ahem…),  or HGTV’s prime time line-up on any given night, and you’ll see that home staging is one of the most acclaimed tools a seller can use to help sell their home quickly and for top dollar.  And the reason that so many in the real estate industry sing its praises is simple – it works!
